What is the WDA?
The Wyoming Dietetic Association is a group of registered dietitians and their affiliates, interested in promoting enhanced nutrition and health to Wyoming residents, as well as providing enhanced educational opportunities for WDA members. The WDA supports a variety of nutrition related activities in the state including National Nutrition Month, a quarterly newsletter for members, and an annual nutrition education conference. The WDA has a board which oversees the WDA organization, i.e., operation and policy making for the above activities, and implements programs and policies as directed by the American Dietetic Association. The WDA Board meets a minimum of four times per year and has an annual business meeting which may or may not occur simultaneously with the education meeting.

Mission Statement
The Wyoming Dietetic Association is the advocate of the dietetic profession serving the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well-being.

What is a Dietitian?
A registered dietitian is a professional trained in applying the knowledge of nutrition and health practices to enhance individual health outcomes based on existing health parameters, nutritional intake, and disease incidence. To be a registered dietitian one must first complete a four year course of study which focuses on nutritional science, complete a six to twelve month internship, and then pass a registered dietitian exam conducted by the American Dietetic Association.
